"Le souffle du berger" Concert - Base Camp Festival
"Le souffle du berger" invites you to listen to the music of nature and to share a moment of discussion about pastoral professions. The philharmonic concert will be followed by a public discussion bringing together breeders, experts, and institutional representatives...
Description
As part of the International Year of Pastoral Rangelands and Breeders, Le Souffle du Berger presents a concert exploring the lives of shepherds and the richness of pastoral landscapes. From transhumance to nocturnal vigils, from village dances to shepherds’ calls, the program blends the classical repertoire and popular traditions of the European Baroque with songs from pastoral regions.
Founded in 2017 by Valentin Tourner, La Chapelle Harmonique brings together singers and instrumentalists specializing in early music, in ensembles ranging from chamber music to large choral and orchestral ensembles. The ensemble performs at such iconic venues as the Palace of Versailles, the Radio France Auditorium, and the festivals in Beaune, La Chaise-Dieu, and Saint-Denis. Driven by a rigorous yet creative approach, La Chapelle Harmonique develops projects that combine music, heritage, and civic engagement.
The concert will be followed by a discussion on themes such as the modernity of pastoral professions, the sustainable management of spaces and resources, the preservation of biodiversity, the promotion of pastoral products, and contemporary challenges, with a view to fostering new, sustainable forms of solidarity.
