Getting around Haute Maurienne

Getting around Aussois and Haute Maurienne Vanoise Winter and summer alike, take advantage of the bus and public transport network for a low-carbon holiday. From Saint-Michel and Modane stations, 4 bus lines serve the ski resorts. A train + bus ecomobility solution for skiing or hiking, without using the car. Free shuttle buses are also available to get you around Aussois.

Getting around Haute Maurienne, inter-station lines summer 2025

In summer, buses serve all the villages and resorts of Haute Maurienne Vanoise as well as the main tourist attractions.

Buses take you to the heart of the Vanoise National Park (Bellecombe), to the unspoilt valleys of Polset and Orgère, to the superb Avérole valley and its typical hamlets, or to the Iseran side of the valley, where you can climb up to the peaks and glaciers of the Vanoise.

From Aussois, the S52 bus takes you to the Modane and Saint-Michel de Maurienne stations.

In winter, buses serve all the villages and resorts of Haute Maurienne Vanoise.

 

  • To get to Modane bus station or Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne SNCF station: bus S52
  • To get to the Val Cenis resort: bus S52

Bus Haute Maurienne Vanoise included with your Pass Aussois

Unlimited access to Haute Maurienne Vanoise buses (S52 + S53 + line 1) is included with the Aussois Pass (except Saturday for S52 and S53). Also included with your Pass: activities, lifts + discounts on a hundred other activities.

In winter, 2 free "ski-buses" operate at Aussois.

The A1 line serves the whole village, with stops at La Tompaz, La Buidonniere, the campsite, the swimming pool, the village hall, Longecôte, the village center and Maison d' Aussois. An easy way to get to the start of the ski lifts (stop "Maison d'Aussois").

Route A2 links Aussois to the Sardières Nordic ski area. Runs every day, except Saturday, from December 17 until the Sardières Nordic ski area closes.

Both ski buses are accessible with ski boots on.

Good winter plan!

Bus included with 6-day + ski passes

Unlimited access to the S52 and S53 buses, which serve the entire region, is included from Sunday to Friday with your Aussois 6-day + ski pass!

Please note: for safety reasons (speed of evacuation), you cannot keep your ski or snowboard boots on your feet on buses S50, S51, S52 and S53. You can put them in the hold with your ski/snowboard and poles. Cross-country ski boots allowed.
