Sensory Creation - Äma - Forts en Lumière Festival

ÂMA (soul in Old Savoyard) is a creation, an interactive, litho-sensitive work. It is a principle of life, movement, and thought—that which gives something its originality, that which animates it, and that which makes it resonate with our sensibilities.

Description

It gives voice to a piece of wood from my forests. Its natural lines evoke a hidden musical score that can be delicately interpreted through touch. Through the touch of a feather or a hand, the wood’s grain comes alive, inviting exploration and offering a free interpretation of its curves. A great musical subtlety is possible: the wood connects with the bow’s movement and the violin’s sound. I wanted to recapture this sensation of touch and give it a sonic form, in the most natural way possible.

WOOD invites us to explore THE LINES that nature offers us. But also to listen to ourselves, taking the time for the musical gesture.

The sound design is spatialized; the experience is heard through headphones.
ÂMA can be presented in any venue, in different variations depending on the available space: from a visually immersive work, generated in real time in a darkened space, to a purely acoustic and musical version.
