Grand Traditional Festival of the village-resort of Aussois.
On August 14 and 15, Aussois alive with festivities and revives its traditions, offering a variety of activities for all ages throughout the day and into the evening. A unique event that will transport you back in time!

In Aussois, traditions are far from being a thing of the past. With a big village fair.
Program for this festival organized by all of Aussoisassociations, volunteers, and various local organizations. The spirit of a mountain resort village that loves to welcome visitors and share its history, cultural heritage, and natural beauty.

Every year, thousands of people take part in this unique and spectacular festival in Aussois!

* FRIDAY, AUGUST 14, 2026:
-Starting at 9 a.m.: Sale of brioches and country bread baked in the communal oven by the Aussois Club (No reservations required; available while supplies last).
-Ticket sales at the museum for the traditional evening meal on the square (subject to availability).
- Glow sticks for the evening torchlight procession (€2) available all day at various locations in the village center and at the Tourist Office
-5:00 PM–9:00 PM: Carousel + Tourist Office face-painting booth and glow stick sales at Place des Chantres
-5:00 PM: Opening of the Aussois refreshment stand on the square. Sale of appetizer plates
-6:00 PM: Musical aperitif with the band Accord’Oé on the Place
-7:00 PM: Traditional meal of “diots, polenta, cheese, and blueberry cake” served by Aussoyenne associations on the village square (last seating at 8:30 PM). Reservations begin August 11 at the Musée l'Arche d'Oé: Adults €15; Children under 12 €12 (non-refundable). In case of rain, the event will be moved to the community hall
-7:00 PM: “Timb’Alu” Batucada from Saint-Michel de Mne parading through the village center.
-9:30 PM: Torchlight procession. Meet in front of the church with your torches or glow sticks to accompany the Aussois ’s parade to Plan Champ.
- 10:00 PM: Fireworks at Plan Champ. Return to the village square with the Aussois Band.
-10:30 PM: DJ BLAZEE. The heart of the village turns into a giant dance floor! Dance until 2:30 AM to some wild beats!!!

* SATURDAY, AUGUST 15, 2026
-9:30 a.m.: Mass in the village square, followed by a procession in traditional costumes to the church. Cake sale at the exit.
-Starting at 11:00 AM: ZIManège musical carousel—free admission
-11:30 AM to 2:30 PM: The Aussoyenne associations’ refreshment stand opens, serving appetizer platters (cold cuts & cheese) in the square
-Starting at 12:30 PM: Traditional snack available at the refreshment stand.
-Starting at 11:30 a.m.: Unique raffle: How much does the firefighter weigh with his big drum?
-11:30 AM: Performance by the children of the Aussois group “Lo Z’Oërin”
-From 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM: Grand village fair in the heart of the village. On the program: greasy pole, nutcracker, candy wheel, straw bale toss, zip line, coconut toss, wheel of fortune, fishing game, prize fishing, barillon weighing, envelopes, darts, PGHM, ring toss, candy, cotton candy, doughnuts, and much more… plenty of prizes to win at the fair - Tickets on sale all day at various locations throughout the village.
-3:00 PM Parade featuring the Aussois in Empire-era uniforms, the Compagnie des Guides, the Mauriennaises in traditional costumes, the residents of Aussois, the folk dance group, and the guest group. From Notre Dame de la Salette to the Village Square.
-4:00 PM: Performance by the folk group “Lo Z’Oërin” and the guest group
- Discover the PGHM helicopter: High-mountain gendarmerie unit specializing in delicate and dangerous high-mountain operations (subject to the availability of the PGHM team). Direct communication with the pilot. Please follow the instructions and stay within the safety perimeter on site.
-Traditions: “La Victoire” fire engine parade, traditional songs, accordion music, sale of August 15th pottery, games of skill, festival...
-Country dance with DJ Bazil
