Grand Traditional Festival of the Village-Resort of Aussois.
On August 14 and 15, Aussois comes alive with festivities and revives its traditions by offering a variety of activities for all ages throughout the day and into the evening. A unique event that will transport you back in time!

In Aussois, traditions are far from being a thing of the past. Featuring a grand village fair.
Program for this festival organized by all of Aussois’ associations, volunteers, and various local organizations. The spirit of a mountain resort village that loves to welcome visitors and share its history, cultural heritage, and natural beauty.

Every year, thousands of people take part in this unique and spectacular festival in Aussois!

* FRIDAY, AUGUST 14, 2026:
Starting at 10 a.m.: Sale of brioches and country bread baked in the communal oven by the Ski Club
(No reservations required; available while supplies last)
Ticket sales at the Musée l’Arche d’Oé for the traditional evening meal on the square
(subject to availability)
Sale of glow sticks for the evening torchlight procession (€2)
All day long at various locations in the village center
4:00–7:00 p.m.: Face painting with the Tourist Office. Place des Chantres
5:00 PM–9:00 PM: ZI Manège!!! Free admission at Place des Chantres
5:00 PM: Opening of the Aussoyennes Associations’ Refreshment Stand on the village square
Sale of appetizer platters
6:00 PM: Musical happy hour with the band Accord’Oé on the square
7:00 PM: “Timb’Alu” batucada parade through the village center
7:00 PM: Traditional meal of “diots, polenta, cheese, and blueberry cake”
served by the Aussoy associations on the village square (last seating at 8:30 p.m.)
Reservations starting August 11 at the Musée l’Arche d’Oé: Adults €15; Children (under 12) €12

9:30 p.m.: Torchlight procession. Meet in front of the church with your glow sticks to accompany the Aussois Firefighters’ Band’s parade to Plan Champ
10:00 PM: Fireworks at Plan Champ (subject to prefectural authorization)
Return to the village square with the Aussois Firefighters’ Band
10:30 PM: “DJ BLAZEE” The heart of the village transforms into a giant dance floor
Dance until 3:00 AM to some wild beats!!!
In case of rain, the event will be moved to the village hall

* SATURDAY, AUGUST 15, 2026
Raffle all day long
9:30 a.m.: Mass in the square, followed by a procession in traditional costumes to the church; cake will be served upon exiting
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: ZI Carousel!!! Free admission, Place des Chantres. Musical carousel with performers
Starting at 11:30 a.m.: Refreshment stand run by Aussois associations, serving appetizer platters on the town square
Starting at 1 p.m.: Traditional snacks available at the refreshment stand
11:30 a.m.: Performance by the children of the Aussois folk group “Lo Z’Oërin”
From 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.: Grand village fair in the heart of the village. On the program: greased pole, mechanical rodeo, wooden games, candy wheel, zip line, climbing challenge, coconut toss, wheel of fortune, prize fishing, barillon weigh-in, envelope toss, darts, ring toss, PGHM rescue team demonstration, tubing, and much more… Plenty of prizes to win!
Tickets on sale all day at various locations throughout the village
3:00 p.m.: Parade featuring the Aussois Fire Department in Empire-era uniforms, the Compagnie des Guides, the Mauriennaises in traditional costumes, residents of Aussois, the guest folk group
“Pays Gavot” (Hautes-Alpes), and the Aussois folk group “Lo Z’Oërin”
Route from Notre Dame de la Sale􀆩e to the village square
4:00 p.m.: Performance by the “Lo Z’Oërin” folk group and the guest group
Check out the PGHM helicopter: a high-mountain gendarmerie unit specializing in delicate and dangerous high-mountain rescue operations. Demonstration with live communication with the pilot. Please follow instructions and observe the safety perimeter on site (subject to the PGHM team’s availability)
Traditions Evening: “La Victoire” fire engine parade, traditional songs, accordion music, sale of August 15 pottery, games of skill, dance with Bazil
