From Modane Station to Aussois
When you arrive in Modane, take the Haute Maurienne bus network Aussois .Once you arrive by train, there are several options for easily getting to Aussois.
Bus from Modane to Aussois
The S52 bus runs between the Modane train station and Aussois about 15 minutes.
Practical information
- You can purchase your tickets at the ticket window at the Modane train station, from the conductor, online, or at the tourist office or the cantonal building in Modane
- Hours may vary depending on the time of year
⚠️ During busy periods (especially on winter Saturdays), we strongly recommend making a reservation to ensure you get a seat.
Bus included with 6-day + ski passes
Unlimited access to the S50, S51, S52, and S53 buses, which serve the entire region from Modane, is included with your Aussois or longer ski pass from Sunday through Friday!
Please note: for safety reasons (speed of evacuation), you cannot keep your ski or snowboard boots on your feet on buses S50, S51, S52 and S53. You can put them in the hold with your ski/snowboard and poles. Cross-country ski boots allowed.

Getting around without a car in Aussois winter
Good news: once you get there, you won't need a car.
Aussois a compact ski resort where everything is within easy reach:
- Ski lifts near the center
- Shops and restaurants within walking distance
- Quick access to Nordic activities in Sardières via a shuttle bus
Free shuttle buses in the resort
In winter, two free buses run in Aussois.
- The A1 line serves the entire village and takes you to the ski lift station (the “MaisonAussoisstop).
- The A2 line connects Aussois Sardières Nordic ski area.
Access to other ski resorts
Thanks to the bus network in Haute Maurienne, you can also explore other ski areas such as Valfréjus, La Norma, Val Cenis, Bessans, and Bonneval.
There is a fare for the inter-station lines (Line F to La Norma and Line S52 to Val Cenis) used to reach these destinations.
