Walking tour of the Lozes archaeological park
Rocks polished by the ancient glacier Arc reveal an original set of rock carvings left by early mountaineers. Learn to decipher those mysterious signs, dating mostly from 1000 BC to the Middle Ages.
Description
Inside the Parc archéologique des lozes, there are two routes to choose from. Take the first route on the right, then follow the second (short or long version). The route is marked by small black arrows.
As the rocks are highly eroded, observation of the engravings is subject to certain lighting conditions. We recommend visiting the site at sunrise or sunset, as the low-angled light accentuates the relief and contours of the engravings.
The information given in terms of time, kilometers and altitude difference is for the walk including route 1 and the short version of route 2.
Additional welcome
The following are prohibited in the park:
* the jacking of any vehicle (including ATVs)
* any contact with or damage to the rock
* picnics and fires
* access to the industrial quarry for safety reasons
