Mountain Film - Alexandre, Son of a Shepherd - Base Camp Festival
Alexandre is 11 years old, and in the summer he and his father tend to a thousand sheep. In huts tucked away on the slopes, under the stars or in the midst of a raging storm, Fernand passes on everything he knows about life on the mountain pastures.
Description
Alexandre lives in a mountain village, and since his early childhood, he and his father have tended a thousand sheep every summer. Fernand teaches him everything he knows about life on the mountain pastures. He has to climb the steep slopes, learn to work with the dogs and herd the flock, identify plants, and catch the lame ewe.
At an altitude of over 2,000 meters, in huts inaccessible from the slopes, under the stars or during a roaring thunderstorm, they share a beautiful bond above the world. This year, the Tour de France, helicopter rides, and the village festival will punctuate the summer, but Alexandre hopes above all to earn Fernand’s trust so he can tend the large flock on his own.
